Happy Birthday Kagamine Twins!

Happeh happeh birthday to the Kagamine twins!

Rin and her brother Len turn six today! They are my favorite Vocaloids and to celebrate their birthday, I listened to Romeo and Cinderella on replay for two hours straight, which drove me to the verge of tears, because there’s something about the song that touches my heart deeply. Ironically, it’s not torture, because I actually enjoy the song! ^w^

Before I go, a big apology for my previous post which was absolute crap. My face when I reread it:

gross-face

I believe that’s Kristen Wiig from SNL? I don’t remember.

This was an extremely short post… but I’m kinda packed right now, so I don’t have much time to write.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!

Did any of you guys get what you wanted for Christmas? Any new packets of air-dry clay (oh CCJ!), balls of yarn (hehe Kia) or Minecraft-related stuff (a certain Richard I know!)? Or a new computer perhaps? That dress you’ve been eyeing recently? A Starbucks gift card from a loved one?

I’m so very pleased with the bountiful abundance of gifts I recieved! There were gifts like the new Skullcandy headphones from my parents (thank you so much I love you to the sky and back okay!), gifts like the small but sweet keychain with my name spelt on it in alphabet beads that my best friend Emma gifted me, gifts like the somewhat touching small note that made me smile placed among the small treasure trove of items Clarissa bestowed upon me at the party last Saturday.

As corny as it sounds, Christmas isn’t all about the gifts that you receive, it’s about giving them. A confession: this year was the first year that I was actually buying something using the money that I had painstakingly tried not to use for buying my weekly frappes at Starbucks. And I enjoyed it, because, well, there’s something inside you that makes you feel good about using your own money and effort to get a loved one something to warm their heart.

I can’t believe I just wrote something that corny!

Speaking of which, did you know that Christmas is not the day on which Jesus Christ was born?

I know, I know, shocking. I read The Da Vinci Code a year back and discovered this fact. Apparently it’s something about Roman propaganda. I can’t remember the details, but it has something to do with Constanistople, the then Roman emperor at that time, converting to Christianity and mixing some of the pagan religion into Christianity. December 25th is actually the Roman Saturnalia in which everyone eats, drinks and is merry. Also, did you know that the halos of the angels are actually supposed to be the Romans’ sun disks?

I’m going to end my post here, but I shall leave you with some lyrics from my all-time favorite Christmas carol:

“I don’t want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
I don’t care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree”

It’s from the Queen of Christmas – Mariah Carey!

A very merry Christmas everyone! Here’s hoping all your wishes come true!

An Introduction To Vocaloid

メリークリスマス! That’s Merry Christmas in Japanese!

The above picture is so darn purty I wish I could make it my computer wallpaper~ but it doesn’t seem to fit. Oh wells.

It seems like I haven’t explained anything about my number two favorite genre of music to listen to other than pop. Vocaloid is, I quote from Wikipedia, a Japanese singing voice synthesizer, that comes with a whole lot of different characters like the two above. Basically you download the software, and you can enter song lyrics and the tune of the song in. Then a voice (it depends which character you get, they all have different voices) can “sing” that song and you can save it and post it to Youtube or whatever. I don’t do that, of course. I’m much too lazy. However, some people do post songs of their own creations online, and my friends and I listen to them. Most songs are in Japanese, but that doesn’t stop us from listening to them even if we don’t understand the lyrics (or even if they are computer-generated voices).

This was a really short post, but I’ll be adding in more pictures of the other Vocaloids as well. More posts of the Vocaloid family will come up though! Stay tuned~

(I really can’t remember where I got the pictures of the Vocaloids from.)

The Disappearance of Sophia Chandler

Published December 16, 2013 by sophiachandler

Most likely, you’ve noticed that I have vanished completely (actually that’s an exaggeration) from cyberspace for a week or so. The factors accounting to my disappearing act are:

  1. A cruise vacation. We went to Southeast Asia – as in, Phuket, Penang, Singapore – with another family – the Cohens. It was a free company trip! All I can say is that I immensely enjoyed myself. I learnt a new board game, I went parasailing, I discovered coconut chocolate in Penang and burnt my tongue trying to eat a spicy noodle dish they call laksa – I had so much fun! Plus, it helped a lot that the Cohens are my best friend and her family. And she has a really cute baby sister too. #justsaying
  2. The Internet was being a female dog. I’m sorry, computer, for cursing you and calling you a “stupid hunk of metal” but I didn’t mean it, okay. I was just having one of my many hissy fits. Please don’t take them seriously.
And I apologize for calling you a female dog as well.
  3. I had extra lessons. Okay, not extra lessons, tuition. I suck at Math. I’m really crap at it, and anyway Mum wanted to keep me out of the house and away from the computer because she swears I am addicted to it, so I took it up. Except I didn’t understand half the stuff they were teaching ._.
  4. The Christmas season. This is just an excuse… kind of but not really. I was also busy during the holiday season due to the number of gifts poor ol’ Sophia Claus has to buy for all the many best friends and close relatives.

Before I end this post, I’m just going to say some more other stuff here: you can now find me on social media. Not Facebook though, but if I get up to thirty or so likes I may get a Facebook page for the fun of it. However, I have Twitter and Wattpad.

I haven’t shared any songs for a while…

The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku

The first time I listened to this song I almost cried.

“Even if I’m a toy that traces songs, I resolve that it’s ok, eat negi, look up at the sky and cry, but I lose even the power to do that.
My personality becomes too dependent on music, and when my original place turns to waste,
my heart-like thing disappears and there is a world I see at the end of my insanity. ”
